We all have a homeschool journey. Mine started when I decided to unenroll my special needs child from public school. As his parent and advocate, I couldn’t bare to watch him struggle any longer. Instead, I chose to dig my heels in and do the work myself.

Homeschooling wasn’t always smooth sailing for me. There were days when lesson plans went out the window, replaced by impromptu learning moments. I questioned whether I was doing enough and whether my kids were learning in the right ways.

One of the biggest challenges? Finding ways to balance structured learning with creativity. I quickly learned that education isn’t just about ticking off assignments—it’s about sparking curiosity.

As a writer and advocate for families, I love diving into real, everyday moments. The struggles, the wins, and the messy learning in between should all be celebrated. Through homeschooling, I’ve discovered just how powerful creativity and connection can be—not just for kids, but for parents too. My goal is to make parenting feel less overwhelming and a lot more engaging.
