A Fresh and Fun Lunch Option

Who says you need to add cheese to please? This Turkey & Veggie Pinwheels recipe is perfect for those times when you and your kids crave something fresh and delicious!

I’m going to be completely honest with you, most kid-friendly recipes are going to have one key ingredient included: cheese. Well, not this one! While I love cheese, I actually haven’t had a single helping of it since I was a kid (dietary restrictions). So, it’s important for me to know how to make recipes without it.

Now, I’m not saying you can’t use cheese in this recipe…by all means, load it up if you wish. What I am saying is that you likely won’t even miss it! These Turkey & Veggie Pinwheels are packed with delicious, creamy hummus and moist turkey breast. They’re easy to make and fun for the whole family!

1. Easy for Little Hands to Help

Kids can spread hummus, layer veggies, and roll tortillas with minimal supervision. It’s a great way to build kitchen confidence and fine motor skills.

2. Customizable for Picky Eaters

Parents can tailor fillings to suit each child’s preferences. Not a fan of turkey? Try swapping it for ham, tofu or even black beans.

3. Balanced Nutrition

Turkey & Veggie Pinwheels offer a mix of lean protein, fiber-rich veggies, and whole grains, supporting energy and focus throughout the day.

4. No-Cook Convenience

No stove or oven required! We may have time to cook as homeschoolers, but that doesn’t mean we always want to. Just assemble, slice, and serve!

5. Fun Presentation

The spiral shape makes them visually appealing and more exciting than a traditional sandwich. Kids love the bite-sized pieces!

6. Great for Meal Prep

Make them ahead and store in the fridge for up to two days. They hold up well and stay fresh, making your mornings run smoother.

7. Encourages Healthy Choices

Letting kids choose their own fillings from a colorful spread of veggies can spark interest in trying new foods.

8. Portable & Lunchbox-Friendly

They’re compact, easy to pack, and don’t require reheating. Take them with on your next field trip or outing!
