Ingredients
Method
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined.
- Place a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add 1 tbsp butter and let it melt, coating the pan evenly.
- Take each slice of bread and dip it into the cinnamon egg batter, ensuring both sides are coated. Let excess batter drip off to prevent sogginess.
- Place the coated bread slices onto the heated skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and slightly crispy. Add the remaining 1 tbsp butter as needed for additional slices.
- Transfer the French toast to a plate and top with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Tips & Variations:
- For extra flavor: Add ½ tsp nutmeg or a splash of orange zest to the batter.
- For stuffed French toast: Spread cream cheese or Nutella between two slices before dipping.
- For a crunchy texture: Coat the dipped bread in crushed cornflakes before frying.
- For a dairy-free version: Use oat milk or coconut milk instead of regular milk.
